Given to that Optometrist who exemplifies those characteristics of an outstanding practitioner, and who for a continuous period of several years has rendered outstanding service to this profession and colleagues. In addition, s/he shall have shown continuous involvement in the community. This qualification should take the nature of service to the community and to community organizations as well as to religious and fraternal organizations. In sum, these concerns shall have been exercised over a considerable period of time. This award shall only be granted when an outstanding candidate is presented to the Awards Committee and need not be granted each year.
