During the holiday season, many people overindulged in sweets and alcohol, deciding to worry about the consequences later. For people with diabetes, however, the consequences of eating poorly and drinking too much alcohol can have a devastating effect on their health – including their eyesight. This time of year, while many of us are trying to stick to our New Year’s resolutions, Dr. Kimberly Friedman of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians recently appeared on Fox-29 to remind us how having a regular comprehensive eye exam should be at the top of our list for ’06.
